four weeks old

Why is it that 4 weeks of my pregnancy seemed like a year and these last four weeks have flown by? I want time to stand still right now. I want to keep my newborn baby just as he is... bright eyed with pursed lips and smelling that wonderful newborn scent. I want to keep my 3 year old just as she is...talking in her deep voice, pronouncing her words in her own little way and loving everything pink. I want to keep my five year old just as he is sweet, caring and kind... I have never met a more tender hearted person in my life. I know I can't freeze time but right now I want to.

Ashton has reminded me not to take health for granted. He doesn't have anything serious but I have watched him be in pain every day. Luckily, he is on medication for acid reflux and it seems to make him feel better although he still spits up constantly. We had to take him to The Children's Hospital for an ultrasound to rule out a condition where he would of had to have surgery. Thank goodness it turned out ok. As I was walking down the hall at the hospital I read "Critical Care Unit" and" Oncology", I am so thankful we weren't in those rooms. I pray for the parents and families of the loved ones who are.
