Uncle Peter

I got a call from my dad on friday telling me that my sweet Uncle Peter had a Heart Attack and was in the ICU. One hour late I got another call telling me that he had suffered another Massive Heart Attack and he had passed away. At that time I was overwhelmed with sadness over my dad losing his brother. I packed up the kids and drove to SLC. Driving home, I was overwhelmed with sadness for my cousin Tara losing her dad. Sad songs on my I-pod were making me cry so I had to listen to Ozzy Osborne's "Crazy Train" and music from "Hairspray". The next morning we flew to San Jose, CA to my grandma's house. I kept thinking about how she lost her "best friend". Peter moved into her house in 2005 when my Grandpa Charlie died. They have since taken care of each other and acted like a little married couple. The list goes on and on, Dave losing his brother and best friend, Isaac losing his dad.... hoping his boys will still remember their grandpa. It was a hard week we spent in CA not only because of the loss but because Halle and Ashton got really sick. I missed the entire service because Ashton was sick, no one slept all week. We had a 5 hour layover in Long Beach on Saturday, than a 6 hour drive home yesterday. Im exhausted and finally feeling my sadness about what I lost. I lost my sweet Uncle Peter. BUT I will remember these things {always}

* he was hilarious, drop dead laughing out loud, tears streaming down your face hilarious
* he had an absolute OBSESSION with pickles
* he ALWAYS carried his White Cup around with Ice Water than he would crunch the ice loudly (must be inherited}.
* I always gave him crap for smoking, 2 years ago he quit Cold Turkey.
* he really loved Pastrami
* he was the biggest GERM-A-PHOB ever, he guarded that white cup within an inch of his life for fear of someone touching it
* he was very, very proud of his 2 children
* no one in this world loved FISHING more
* he never judged anyone
* he had a contagious laugh and he laughed often
* he always lead the annual Kemp birthday message on every birthday of my life, I wish I still had one saved.
* every Xmas he sent all of us an REI Gift Certificate, every year Ely would try to barter for mine.
* he was an amazing Gardener, his cucumbers and tomatoes were his pride and joy
* he absolutely loved my kids SO. MUCH.
* California summer vacation every year
* Ski trips to Utah every winter, he could really rip up the slopes.
* he was an amazing drummer
* we would compare bellies when I was pregnant... he always won
* the minute he would arrive in SLC he wanted to go to Artic Circle, I finally convinced him to go to Shivers and he talked about it everytime I saw him.
* biggest 49er's fan ever
* he ALWAYS told me he loved me everytime we said goodbye, EVERYTIME

...... I love you Uncle Peter and I will miss you, I already do.
