This was my first "Newborn Shoot" other than my own kids. I was nervous because I don't have an official studio. I prefer taking pictures outdoors with natural light where this is more room for more candid interaction. BUT it is almost impossible to take pictures outside in the Wyoming Winter, not just because of the cold but because of the FREEKIN wind!!!! Anyway I've done two sessions in my upstairs "office/playroom" where there is is a lot of windows light and a good lens and I've been pretty excited with the result.
On another note working is such a "Double Edged Sword". I LOVE LOVE LOVE photography but these last few months have been EXHAUSTING! Im not complaining about business, especially before Christmas but it all comes at once because of Christmas Card Season. I feel like I have neglected my family a lot. The last few weeks Ely has come home from work and I immediately get on my computer and edit until at least 1:00 in the morning. The laundry, house, errands, cooking etc. are falling to the way side. Also, I do a shoot for 2 hours or so but it doesn't just end there. I edit edit edit, order, consult, order the reprints etc. all while working at home with my kids here. Ashton HATES the computer so much that when he is on my lap he just starts kicking the keyboard. I think Im starting to figure things out a bit better though. I've had to really focus on the Business side of things and stick with new policies and treat everyone the same... even friends. This is hard for me.... I love the cReatIve stuff not the other. Anyway, if anyone wants to come to my house and put all my Christmas Decorations away just call me:)
