Dave's Football Invitational

Nearly two years ago E's partner and mentor Dave had a stroke and sustained a massive head injury which ultimately resulted in his tragic death. We spent 10 days at the hospital with his wife, daughter, son and amazing extended family. Since this time they have become our "San Diego Family" . We have been blessed to be invited to spend holidays and birthdays with them when we are away from our family. I was touched beyond words when they threw a huge birthday party for Halle's first birthday where she was showered with gifts, loves and hugs from the whole family. We also have seen his daughter graduate and get married this past year. It makes me think of the quote "When the lord closes a door, somewhere he opens a window" . We are thankful everyday that the Gauthiers, Kangas's, Boldins and Mullens have " adopted "us. My husband has often said that if something happened to him Dave would of been the one to take care of us. He feels deeply honored that he is often asked to represent Dave by filling in on his responsibilities. This man meant so much to him, he loved him like a father. Dave was a coach for the "Pop Warner" Football League and Saturday was the 2nd annual invitational in his honor. We spent the day at the field where in typical San Diego weather it went from blaring heat to down right chilliness in the evening!
